{"id":1540,"date":"2021-12-16T09:45:40","date_gmt":"2021-12-16T09:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.threecliveroad.com\/blog\/?p=1540"},"modified":"2022-06-28T05:20:11","modified_gmt":"2022-06-28T05:20:11","slug":"a-classic-winter-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.threecliveroad.com\/blog\/a-classic-winter-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"A CLASSIC WINTER RECIPE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SARSON KA SAAG, TOPPED WITH CANE JAGGERY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">We&#8217;re thrilled to share our take on Sarson ka Saag, now serving with our winter necessity<a href=\"https:\/\/threecliveroad.com\/cane-jaggery.html\"> Cane Jaggery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><i>For the saag:<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mustard Leaves, 1 kg<br \/>\nSpinach, 0.5 kg<br \/>\nGreen-leafy Bathua, 0.5 kg<br \/>\nOnions, 2 whole<br \/>\nGarlic, 5 cloves<br \/>\nGinger, 1 thumb<br \/>\nGhee, 3 tablespoons<br \/>\nMaize Flour, 6 tablespoons<br \/>\nTurmeric, 2 teaspoons<br \/>\nRed Chili Powder, 1 teaspoon<br \/>\nCoriander Powder, 2 teaspoon<br \/>\nAsafoetida, 2 teaspoon<br \/>\nSalt, 2 teaspoons<br \/>\nCane Jaggery, 4 tablespoons<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><i>For the tadka:<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whole red chilies<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ginger slices<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coriander seeds<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cumin seeds<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Garlic<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ghee<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">1.Blanch<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mustard leaves and spinach, combine with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bathua<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and hand blend for a coarse blend.<br \/>\n<\/span>2.Saut\u00e9 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">finely chopped onions, garlic, ginger and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ghee<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<br \/>\n<\/span>3.Combine<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with the mustard greens and simmer for an hour.<br \/>\n<\/span>4.Add<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> maize flour to smoothen for consistency.<br \/>\n<\/span>5.Season<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, asafoetida, salt and Cane Jaggery and simmer for 30 minutes.<br \/>\n<\/span>6.Prepare<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tadka<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of garlic, ginger, whole red <\/span>chillies<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and ghee to pour over cooked <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">saag <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">before serving.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Serve <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sarson ka saag<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with jaggery, white butter and traditional <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">makki <\/span><\/i><i>ki<\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> roti<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SARSON KA SAAG, TOPPED WITH CANE JAGGERY We&#8217;re thrilled to share our take on Sarson ka Saag, now serving with our winter necessity Cane Jaggery.
